One-to-one Yoga Therapy Sessions with Julia

Breath Retaining Yoga

Within the standard one-to-one yoga therapy sessions, Julia will use some of the brain training and mindfulness exercises, for example:

Assessment questions:  This would be done in advance to check whether this programme is appropriate for you.

Brain Retraining Programme: 

  • “Somatic tracking” of the body: in other words, a Mindfulness body scan

  • “Corrective experiences”: experiencing the pain but in a positive way eg sending “safety messages” or Mindfulness Soften Soothe Allow meditation

  • “Avoidance behaviours” to use when the pain is high

  • Recognising when you are on “high alert” and how to “catch your fears” and “turn down the dial” when you experience pain

  • How to cope with “setbacks” or “relapses”

  • “Self-compassion” and the power of “positive sensations and emotions”

Each session would cover just one of these areas, so that with Julia’s support, you can build resilience over time. 

In each session, there will also be the chance to practise physical asanas, pranayama and meditation to offer a fully rounded experience.

One-to-one Yoga Therapy Sessions with Cath

Our body tells a story of our life journey so far. Our perception of life is a unique one. We all see and experience life in a very personal and individual way - often shaped by our past experiences, beliefs, attitudes, and wisdom chips collected along the way! To lift this veil of perception, we have to delve a little deeper within ourselves, towards an inner landscape full of treasures. Sometimes we have to return to our roots, the foundations we are built upon, to strengthen the whole structure and provide the nourishment it needs to grow and flourish. This inner landscape can always be worked on. Our life story can be tweaked and changed along the way. Transformation and joy isn’t to be experienced at the finish line. It’s to be found in the present moment, if we are able to see clearly, learn and enjoy the adventure that is life. 

 A safe space will be provided to support personal inquiry into how you can support your own healing process. Together we can explore your healthcare needs and use a number of traditional Yoga models to diagnose your health from a physical, energy, mind and spiritual perspective. A personalised and evolving programme will be created, where we can explore some specific tools. Some gentle, mindful movement, breathwork, relaxation, meditation and more with the aim to promote good health in you as a whole. It’s important that you feel comfortable with the practice and that it’s achievable for you to do. All tools are designed to help in everyday life and so you’ll have the opportunity to explore some practices in your own time. Insights and experiences can be shared enabling practice to be tailored, creating a new level of healing. 

 Along with your Yoga mat please have a couple of blankets, and a few pillows or cushions available.

One-to-one Yoga Therapy Sessions with Christina

One-to-one sessions will feature a combination of gentle, carefully chosen, simple and  accessible movements, postures, conscious breathing, some sound work and positive  mental focus as well as lifestyle and dietary suggestions where relevant. 

The sessions will aim to promote wellbeing on a physical, mental and emotional level,  increasing self-awareness so that this becomes a part of daily life.  

You don’t need to have a flexible or strong body to start with or to have a long, deep  breath. All that is needed is to gently focus on relaxing, reconnecting and rediscovering  comfort and ease in your own body and breath, releasing tension on all levels of the  human system. Thus, a feeling of more space and stability in the body, mind and  emotions can be experienced. Over time, at a pace that suits the individual, the practice  will develop and evolve to build on these foundations, setting your own path for health  and happiness that will support you for life.
